Am I Too Far Gone?
Consequences can rack up over time.
What were first minor issues can grow into severe problems. One DUI can turn into multiple—leading to a long suspension of a driver’s license. Arguments with a spouse can end up leading to a separation. What may have only been a minor health concern can develop into a serious ailment. Without help for a substance use disorder, someone who is addicted to drugs and/or alcohol can continue to spiral with the consequences growing larger and larger.
Catching it early is ideal. With that said, many people don’t seek out the help they need until the consequences become severe. At that point, someone with a substance use disorder may be left wondering, “Am I too far gone? Can I even turn things around at this point?”
Below is more about how far may be “too far,” and an outstanding treatment option available for patients that need a higher level of care.
Is There a Such Thing as “Too Far Gone?”
No. This is extremely important to understand, so I’ll repeat it. No. There is no such thing as “too far gone.” You are always deserving of help, and you can always improve your circumstances. With that said, stopping the use of substances (including alcohol) and getting your life on track may not be as simple as making the decision to quit cold turkey. Once a substance use disorder has advanced, it may require psychological care and even medical intervention to turn things around.
The good news is, there are multiple treatment options to help you get your life back on track and receive the care you both need and deserve. One option for exceptional, individualized care is in-home treatment.
About In-Home Treatment
There are a few options to help patients who are in need of a higher level of care. For many, inpatient treatment is the go-to. With that said, inpatient treatment isn’t for everyone, nor is it always the ideal solution.
If you need a higher level of care but are either unable to check into an inpatient facility to receive treatment or you would simply prefer to receive the care you need at home, there is an option available to meet your needs—in-home treatment.
