What an intervention is

An intervention provides a person suffering from addiction or a behavioral health disorder with the opportunity to better understand the way their actions are affecting the ones they love the most. With the help of a specialist in the field of behavioral health treatment, loved ones can appropriately broach the topic of addiction (or other behavioral health conditions), and the damage the condition is causing.

Through a healthy and professionally supervised dialogue, the loved ones of a person suffering from a behavioral health condition can express their concerns, how the person’s addiction or non-substance-related behavioral health condition is affecting their lives, and how much it would mean for the person in need to receive the treatment they require and deserve.

What an intervention isn’t

When people think of interventions, they think of TV shows where people swarm the person they are trying to help, hurling accusations and aggressively confronting the addicted person. This “tough love” approach more often than not backfires, with the person suffering from addiction panicking. This often leads them to reject the help they are being offered and even resent their loved ones for the ambush.

This isn’t the only approach, nor is it the healthiest.

The Front Door Health process

Front Door Health offers intervention services that are compassionate, effective, collaborative, and professional. We help the loved ones of the person receiving the intervention to put together a plan of action and tailor each intervention to meet the specific needs of the person struggling.

While interventions are most often for substance use, we also offer behavioral health interventions for conditions like eating disorders, gambling, shopping, pornography, and more.

The team at Front Door Health is made up of behavioral health and substance use specialists who have the necessary qualifications to perform a proper intervention in a healthy and scientific manner. We also have the capability of transitioning from the intervention into full treatment services for patients who require a higher level of care.

If you would like to learn more about the Front Door Health intervention process, reach out today. We’d be happy to discuss options to meet the needs of your loved one and help encourage them to receive the treatment they deserve.
