Should seniors seek treatment?

Yes.

There is no age cap on receiving treatment for substance use, behavioral health, or mental health services. Even if you have struggled with addiction, depression, PTSD, or any other behavioral or mental health condition for years, you are still a candidate for treatment.

Understandably, many seniors don’t seek treatment. Many aren’t aware that these resources are available to them, and others have grown up with a stigma about receiving treatment. The truth is, there are outstanding resources for seniors who require treatment, and the stigmas about asking for help are all but gone.

If you believe you are in need of treatment, don’t hesitate to reach out to Front Door Health for support. We provide outstanding treatment for seniors, and we will create a custom treatment plan to meet your specific needs.

The unique needs of seniors

There are a few things that may set senior treatment apart from treatment for teens or working adults.

One major concern for seniors is group treatment. There is an understandable concern about trying to open up and relate to a much younger crowd that is not currently facing the same challenges.

Mobility and health conditions can also be issues for some seniors, making outpatient travel or even an inpatient facility a challenge.

In-home treatment allows seniors to receive one-on-one care from the comfort of their own homes. This means no group sessions with others that are not in the same life stage and no concerns about travel or lodging.

At Front Door Health, we come to you. Our top experts will provide you with the care you need, where and when you need it. We also do not provide group sessions (outside of optional family sessions). This means no opening up to strangers and no intergenerational divide to cross.
