FAQs

  • What makes FDH different?

Many treatment programs require clients to disrupt their lives in order to undergo intense, yet relatively short duration inpatient treatment where many services provide little or no clinical value. FDH’s program recognizes and treats behavioral health as the long-term, chronic condition it is by providing a year-long program of treatment and support in the most convenient way possible -- delivering a team of experts to your home, when you want us to be there. Our team will work with you to develop and use skills to recover in the environment in which you live and experience triggers. Secondly, FDH’s approach provides you more privacy than traditional treatment programs which are based exclusively on group therapy and shared living spaces. Our program supports those who wish to remain engaged in the positive aspects of their lives, including maintaining employment or staying in school. Lastly, FDH allows a high level of personalization of care because you have a care team that can adjust the scope and intensity of services in real-time.

Stigma around behavioral health treatment can make getting started very difficult, even terrifying.  At FDH, we know how scary this can be, so we make this easier for you by coming directly to you, in your home, to help you recover in your own space.  We pay particular attention to this barrier by providing a nonjudgmental, professional, and confidential space for your healing. By coming directly to you, we learn more about your environment and the particular vulnerabilities that may have contributed to your illness, and can tailor treatment specifically to your needs.

  • How long is the program?

Our program is structured to support you through a year with the ability to provide continued support based on your specific needs and those of your family. Most residential programs provide care over a 15-30 day period. Upon discharge, a patchwork of poorly coordinated services may or may not be available to clients. This patchwork of services not only fails to support clients just as they’re transitioning back into their lives, but often results in relapse. Studies have shown that any treatment program that is less than 90 days is as ineffective as no treatment at all.

  • What does the program consist of?

Each client will have a care team consisting of at least an individual therapist, family therapist, MAT provider, and psychiatrist. Other service providers such as a nutritionist and personal trainer may be added as needed.

  • What if someone relapses?

Recovery is a long-term process where progress is best measured not by our relapses but by how we respond to opportunities and challenges as they’re placed in front of us. We do not force you to “start over” if you suffer setbacks; rather, we simply adjust our approach and continue moving forward. Because FDH can increase the scope and intensity of services in real-time, there is rarely a need to refer to other providers.

  • Do you take insurance?

We are not currently in network with any insurance providers.

  • Who is a good fit for your program?

In general, anyone who has a desire to seek behavioral health treatment and would like the privacy, convenience, and efficacy that our services provide. Additionally, those who would benefit from continued engagement with positive aspects of their lives, including employment, education, and family.

  • Is the program appropriate for teens and adolescents?

Yes. The flexibility of our program allows us to tailor our treatment approach to meet the specific needs of teens and adolescents and adapt treatment as their needs change.
