5 Upcoming Food Festivals in Chicago That Sober People Can Enjoy (Part 1!)

Chicago is home to some of the best restaurants in the world. From Michelin Star upscale dining to home cooking, you can find everything you are looking for. And what better way to spend time outdoors with your friends than trying some of the best dishes from around the city at super fun festivals throughout the warmer months?

Below is Part 1 of a tour of some of the best food festivals in Chicago that don’t revolve around alcohol. You can grab a variety of bites, save your favorite new restaurants on your phone to check out later, and even enjoy live music! These festivals are a blast!

In order of dates:

#1: Windy City Hot Dog Fest

One thing Chicago is world-famous for is our hot dogs. So, of course, we have an amazing hot dog festival! Scarf down a traditional Chicago dog or try something new and unique. There are going to be great tunes, a kid’s zone, arts and crafts, and even a top dog parade on Sunday!

Hot Dog Fest is June 3-4, and entrance is free.

#2: Roscoe Village Burger Fest

If you are like me, you enjoy a juicy, fat, delicious burger. And if you want to try some of the best burgers available in the city, you’ll want to be in Roscoe Village for their Burger Fest—a celebration of all patties between two buns!

Burger Fest is July 7-9 and features live music, arts and crafts, and even a fun kid’s zone! Entrance is free, with a suggested $10 donation.

#3: Ribfest Chicago

Who’s ready for some BBQ?

If you are a rib lover (and you love all things BBQ), Ribfest Chicago is a must-go. All of the vendors will be bringing their A-game to win one of the two coveted “Best of Chicago Ribfest” titles.

Ribfest Chicago is August 18-20. This is a family-friendly event with lots of fun activities and live music.

The festival is August 26-27 and there will be free entertainment. The suggested donation is $10.
