Can I Use Drugs in Moderation?

Can I Use Drugs in Moderation?

You’ve probably heard the expression, “Everything in moderation.” While this may be okay for some things in life, it’s not the case when it comes to specific harmful behaviors—including the use of certain substances.

Below is more about moderation, whether or not drugs can be used in moderation, and how in-home treatment may be the perfect option to meet your recovery needs if you are having trouble with moderating or quitting the use of drugs and/or alcohol.

Can Drugs be Used in Moderation?

While the kneejerk reaction to this question is probably, “No,” in reality, the answer is a bit more complex. For instance, some people are able to drink or use marijuana recreationally. Others are prescribed medication that may be abused by some people.

With that said, there are certain substances that should not be used at all, and moderation of these substances may be difficult or impossible. For instance, meth, heroin, fentanyl, cocaine, and other drugs can be extremely addictive and should be avoided entirely.

If you are able to drink or use marijuana recreationally and in moderation, that’s fine. If you find yourself struggling to stop the use of these drugs and/or you are being met with severe consequences due to the use of these substances, you may be addicted and may need professional support to stop the use of these substances.

Some signs to look out for to determine if you are addicted to alcohol or marijuana include:

·      Changes in mood and personality

·      Drunk driving

·      Social withdrawal

·      Poor hygiene

·      Aggression

·      Increase in drug or alcohol use

·      Arrests

·      Difficulty concentrating

What Is In-Home Treatment?

If you are looking to stop the use of drugs and/or alcohol and you are looking for an option that does not require you to check into a facility or visit a facility throughout the week for treatment, you should consider in-home treatment. This treatment option allows patients to receive the same level of care from the comfort and privacy of their own homes.

Front Door Health provides top-quality, in-home treatment for drugs, alcohol, and behavioral health conditions. We provide you with treatment that is tailored to meet your exact needs, around your schedule.
